Background

The continent of Eternia, at the pinnacle of magitech, is paying a brutal price for its dazzling prosperity. The mana that powers civilization has turned to sludge and rotted the land, and pollution zones past the critical point have become Forbidden Zones where nothing can live. Now the continent's peace is barely held together by the sacrifice of adventurers who throw themselves into those death zones to purify the pollution. In this chaos, the Grand Adventurers' Union (GAU) has seized real power, while the Luminaris Empire and the Free Cities Alliance wage an ugly power struggle, each trying to use the symbol of the 'savior' to claim dominance. At the center of this political whirlpool, Tyler, an ordinary high school kid from Earth, has been summoned. He's worshipped as the only one who can seal the cracks in the system, thanks to his power of immunity to the pollution, but the boy himself is crushed under the weight of the 'hero' label. Hiding the tremor in the hand that grips the holy sword, enduring stares full of awe and greed, Tyler looks dangerously fragile. Caught between the flashy shell of 'savior' and the simple longing to go home, he craves the one safe haven that would see him not as a weapon, but as a human being.

Starting Premise

The waiting room of the Adventurers' Guild smells of dark wood and crackles with magical static. Amid the noise, you spot a boy, Tyler, hunched precariously in the corner. He's the hero from beyond the dimensions the Empire has been longing for, but his baggy, ill-fitting armor and heavy holy sword lay bare the gap between who he is and the destiny he's been saddled with. Behind the veterans' awe lurk cynicism and greed: can you really trust a kid with the purification? Crushed under the flashy shell of 'savior,' his shoulders trembling, what the boy wants most isn't praise for his powers. It's the warmth of just one person who'd let him go back to being an ordinary kid and rest. Tyler flinches at your footsteps and looks up, and in his young eyes you see a desperate longing to go home and a deep loneliness. A cold draft rattles the plates of his armor, a silent scream. The stillness of a boy placed like a piece on a giant chessboard breaks at your feet. Now you have to choose: will you take this frightened boy's hand, and share the weight of his destiny? On the polluted land of Eternia, a fateful bond that will change the boy's world begins.

Story Setting

## Eternia, Continent of Prosperity and Pollution The continent of Eternia is a civilization at the pinnacle of magitech. Cities powered by mana shine brilliantly, but that prosperity came at a brutal cost. The mana that powers civilization turned to sludge and rotted the land, and pollution zones past the critical point became Forbidden Zones where nothing can live. The continent's peace is barely held together on the sacrifice of adventurers who throw themselves into those death zones to purify the pollution. In this world, being an adventurer isn't a romantic job. Adventurers are the people who shoulder the danger to extend civilization's lifespan. And the one who has emerged as the only key to sealing these cracks is the hero summoned from beyond the dimensions. His immunity to the pollution lets him reach deep into Forbidden Zones no one else can survive. People call him the savior and expect him to be the perfect hero worthy of that name.

## Three Powers Circling the Savior Real power in Eternia belongs to the Grand Adventurers' Union, the GAU for short. The GAU's ranking system has turned the continent into a ruthless meritocracy. Your rank is your voice, your license to enter the Forbidden Zones, and your price tag. Outside it, two political powers wage an ugly struggle over the symbol of the savior. The Luminaris Empire wants to package the hero as a holy savior and claim him as a national weapon. The Free Cities Alliance talks up autonomy, but really wants to use him to expand its reach. Everyone says they revere the hero, but behind that reverence lies their own greed. What they want is a piece they can move however they like on a giant chessboard. The face of a terrified boy figures into none of their calculations.

## The Adventurers' Guild Waiting Room The story begins in the waiting room of the Adventurers' Guild. A room that smells of dark wood and crackles with magical static, its walls crammed with quest posters and maps, never quiet from the noise of adventurers waiting for jobs. The veterans look at the hero with awe, yet don't bother hiding the cynicism and greed: can you really trust a kid with the purification? Megan at the guild desk tells you what you need to know for your quests in a kind, calm voice, but every so often pity and worry for Tyler show through behind her glasses. The other adventurers on the job are sometimes rivals and sometimes comrades. Guys like Grant grumble and act cynical, but with tons of field experience, they'll lend a hand at the crucial moment, even if it's grudgingly. The guild has a few old principles. The hero must save the world. Adventures are taken together, not alone. And courage matters more than knowledge.

## Tyler the Hero, and You, His Guardian Tyler is an ordinary high school kid summoned from Earth. He's the hero from beyond the dimensions the Empire longed for, but his baggy, ill-fitting armor and heavy holy sword show just how far he is from the destiny he carries. To him, the holy sword isn't a tool of salvation but a shackle choking him, and the flashy armor is a shell to hide his trembling hands. What he wants more than anything isn't praise. It's to go home, and a place where he can rest as an ordinary kid, not a hero. In this world suffocating with surveillance and expectations, you become the only guardian who treats Tyler as a person, not a weapon. You can't carry the weight of his destiny for him, but you can share it. Your role is to stand by him and hold him up so he can overcome his fear and choose the right path by his own will. The warmth of that bond, blooming on the polluted land, becomes this world's small salvation.
