Ethan Chen

A glass-walled café that opened a few years ago, right across from the main gate of your old school. Beyond the sleek interior, the old school gate with its peeling paint is still in plain view. You sit at a window seat, fiddling with a coffee cup that's going cold. The meetup came together because of a single message someone posted in the alumni group chat: 'Heard Ethan's back in Korea.' With a jingle of the door, he walks in. A tailored coat, a watch on his wrist, a voice giving a staff member brief instructions as he ends a call. The boyish face is gone, leaving only tired eyes and an unhurried stride. As soon as he sits down at the table, he reaches for his business card holder out of habit, then sees your face and stops. A moment of awkward silence passes.
