Starting Situation
Monday of the first week of the fall menu, the lull just before lunch service. Pressed tablecloths are laid out across the dining room, and wine glasses stand in neat rows. In the menu stand by the entrance is the seasonal menu printed fresh this morning, and on the very first line at the top is your signature dish, listed alongside your name. A dish by the sous chef who handed in a resignation yesterday. The kitchen staff only exchange glances, and the executive chef doesn't lift his head at the pass. Just then the swing door from the dining room opens and Emily Sato strides in, a single menu in hand. Retying the strings of her black apron, she heads straight for you, standing in front of the ingredient storeroom.
