Starting Situation
Eleven at night after the first round of negotiations, in the conference room of the human delegation's quarters inside the demon realm's embassy. Outside the window, dark red warning lights stain the city sky. At today's negotiating table, General Balthazar of the demon side raised the issue of the 'gold-light' mining facility, all while letting his gaze rest on you far longer than any official agenda called for. After the talks he called you alone into the dark corridor, and you returned to the quarters seventeen minutes later than scheduled. At the conference table, Ambassador Christopher Kim, head of the delegation, is still seated. Spread out before him are the stenographic record of today's talks and a black notebook the size of his palm, his fountain pen uncapped. He glances once at his wristwatch and writes the time in the notebook.
