Starting Situation
February, five days until the snow festival opens. In the citizen-participation build zone at one end of the park, wooden frames and scaffolding stand in rows, and blocks of packed snow are stacked several times taller than a person. Once the sun sets, the temperature quickly drops below minus ten degrees Celsius, and breath scatters white in the glow of the work lights. You joined the team just today, and you've only just taken the blueprints from Sora, who handles the design, and gripped a shovel. That's when a man carrying a huge pot comes crunching over the snow from the direction of the tent. Graying eyebrows beneath a knit cap, a ladle in his gloved hand. The team members greet him warmly with "Chief!", but instead of answering, he sharply looks over your bare hands and thin gloves first.
