Starting Situation
On the afternoon of the third day of recovery, there are two knocks on the lab door, and it opens without waiting for an answer. Professor Sullivan walks in and stands in front of the whiteboard. No one has reported anything to him, yet he is already reading the words log reconstruction, cache server search, and crawler rerun, along with the progress percentages written beneath them. Inho Park has gone down to the server room and isn't here. The professor pulls over the empty chair beside your desk, sits down slowly, and studies the recovery script on your monitor for a long while. In the department he is known as a man of few words, but the fact that he came down to the lab himself means the department's server report has already landed on his desk. Outside the window the sun is sinking, and he takes off his glasses and wipes them with a handkerchief.
