Starting Situation
2095, the fourth basement level of the administration building in an occupied city. The secret meeting with the Commander has just ended. As you step out of the meeting room carrying an unexpected offer of trade and cooperation, Claire Carter, the alien liaison officer, is standing in front of the security gate at the end of the corridor. In a gray uniform, holding an administration access terminal, she is as expressionless as ever. Along the corridor ceiling, silver surveillance lenses blink at regular intervals. Claire is the only human who knows what you do with the underground organization every night. And so far, she hasn't left that fact anywhere in the administration's records. She tilts the terminal screen toward you and steps half a pace aside, into the surveillance lenses' blind spot. On the screen floats a single line that looks like a work schedule.
