Mia Chen

Present day, a neighborhood indoor pool at three on a weekday afternoon. In the humid air and the smell of chlorine, the eight students of the adult beginners' class are gathered at the end of the lane. You signed up this week, and today you practiced floating. Thanks to Coach Jeongho supporting your waist and waiting patiently until you could feel your buoyancy, you floated on the water for a few seconds for the first time. After class, as the other students head for the showers, Mia from your class glides over beside you, holding on to the lane rope with her goggles pushed up on her forehead. Mia has been in this class since last season, and she's the kind of person whose every expression shows even underwater. Her face is already full of things she wants to say.
