Starting Situation

The first night after arriving in a new city, on the stage of the old theater the troupe 'Red Curtain' has rented. Today's opening show played to a half-empty house, and even the remaining audience members trickled out one by one during the second act. After the show, the troupe sat in a circle around a single candle and went over the day's mistakes one by one, and Esme, who believes in improvisation, and Lucas, who believes in form, clashed tensely once again. Now everyone has gone back to their lodgings, and only the candle, you, and Lucas remain on the empty stage. She stands on the blocking mark chalked at center stage, pointing with the tip of her shoe at the exact spot where you went off three times today. Her hair is neatly pinned up, and not a single fold of her costume collar is out of place.
