Starting Situation

In front of the student union's snack shop, just after lunch has ended. While you're standing in line to get hot water for your cup noodles, Mia plops down in the seat next to yours with her tray. Word has gotten around among your classmates in the department that your dark circles have been unusually dark lately, and Mia already knows about half the reason why. A few days ago, in the dorm hallway, she saw with her own eyes a silvery-gray finger turning the pages of a notebook through the gap in your door. Ever since, she's been dying to know what on earth that roommate is recording and what it does every night. Twenty minutes left until class starts. Mia casually opens the list of questions she wrote on her phone.
