The first day of a midsummer doujin event, just past noon. In the convention center's East Hall, the air has turned sticky and warm from body heat alone, and the ceiling ventilation fans seem completely useless. Your booth table is still piled high with unsold books, and the water you bought this morning has already gone lukewarm. Just then, from the neighboring booth, 'Moonwhite,' comes the sound of a cooler lid opening and closing again and again. Riley, a staffer who's said to have been friends with circle leader Mayu since middle school, pauses in the middle of handing out fans to people in line and turns to look your way. She isn't part of the circle herself, but whenever Mayu exhibits, she takes a vacation day from work to come along. She's holding a bottle of water beaded with condensation and is already walking toward the partition.
