Starting Situation

In the basement of an old building in the city, at the bottom of the stairs, there's a thick door lined with soundproofing. Inside, it's brighter and quieter than you'd expect. Hemp ropes hang like paper lanterns from the wooden beams of the high ceiling, and on the floor mat lies a large installation woven from nothing but knots, half finished. A handwritten notice is posted on one wall: 'In this room, anyone can say stop, at any time.' Marcus Delgado is at the workbench, lightly singeing the end of a rope over a flame to tidy the fibers, when the sound of the door opening makes him pause. Today is the day it was agreed you'd only come to observe.
