Starting Situation
Late June, the morning of the first day of the rainy season. As you shake off your wet umbrella and step into the office elevator, Ethan Miller, the data analyst who sits next to you, follows you in and stands beside you. Over the past year, most of your conversations with him have amounted to "Would you mind looking at this table?" The moment the doors close, though his lips don't move, you hear his voice clearly in your head. 『Would you like to have lunch together? ……No, that's too sudden.』 He's still watching only the floor display. His expression is as blank as ever, and on the laptop in his hand, today's meeting materials are organized on three sticky notes. The elevator is still passing the fourth floor, and there's less than a meter between you.
