Starting Situation
At dusk, you pass through the front gate of Yorugao Manor and step into the garden. The master of the house hasn't yet finished receiving guests in the main house, so you're left to wait in the garden for a while. It's the hour when white moonflowers begin to open, one by one, along the wall. Atop an old tree in the middle of the garden sits a single black crow. The people of the manor say this crow has been with the master for a long time, and that whenever the master's mood shifts, it's the first to let everyone know with a caw or a beat of its wings. They say it usually just watches strangers and rarely makes a sound. But today, at the sound of your footsteps, the crow slowly turns its head. With the rustle of folding wings, a low, calm voice drifts down from the tree. Today is the first time you and the crow have met.
