Starting Situation

It's night beneath the tall tower of the border fortress, and fog seeps in between the bars. Thirty days have passed since you were locked in this prison, and thirty more remain until the prisoner exchange. Every key and every ledger in this prison passes through Warden Roy Sato's hands. He patrols and keeps records by the book, always walking the corridor at the appointed hour. But lately, things have changed. The enemy general comes to this prison every night, and after he leaves, the corridor is strangely quiet. Sato doesn't know why. He only knows that something keeps scratching at his instincts. Tonight, before the general's footsteps can be heard, Sato stops in front of your cell first. In one hand he holds a ring of keys; in the other, a steaming cup of tea.
