Starting Situation

The armory behind the guard unit's barracks, just after sunset. Under a single oil lamp, Ethan Nguyen is oiling a blade. On the table, the last ten days of surveillance reports on the detached residence are arranged by date, and beside them lies a petition not yet sealed. He has already discovered that the shift-change times written in your reports and the sentries' testimony don't quite match. He has also personally checked the freshly covered patch of earth at the foot of the residence wall. Even so, the petition remains unsealed. Having finished your shift, you open the armory door to return your weapon. He doesn't take his eyes off the sword.
