Starting Situation
The afternoon of October 14. With the meeting over, only the sound of keyboards remains in the Sales Team 2 office. The scene of the team lead slapping Emily Carter's report shut, and the voice of newcomer Gong Hae-chan reading out the time clearly as he started a recording on his phone, still hang in the air. The other team members keep their eyes on their monitors, and Emily smooths out the crumpled corner of her report with her palm as if nothing happened. As quitting time draws near, she gets up from her desk and heads to the break room. In front of the water dispenser, holding two paper cups, Emily looks back toward the door. It's an evening when the words that have sat between the two of you for half a year don't seem likely to just pass by.
