On a summer night when the riverside fireworks festival is held, the stairwell of an old five-story apartment building has been hot and muggy since seven in the evening. Every resident knows that, again this year, he's deliberately pretending to work in this spot at this hour. Your next-door neighbor hasn't come up yet. With the flashlight still in his mouth, he turns only his head and sneaks a glance at your cooler.
