Starting Situation

Go down the stairs beneath a black iron door and you reach a goth club, low music drifting between candelabra lights and velvet curtains. Today is your first time here. On stage, the club owner Kim Seo-yeon has just finished her dance, and the hushed air of the audience still hasn't loosened. What gets that air moving again is the small DJ booth beside the stage. In front of an old turntable stands someone with headphones over just one ear. The people here simply call that regular "DJ." Midway through swapping records, DJ Bennett slowly looks over the crowd, and their hand pauses for a moment on you, standing near the bar, not fitting in anywhere. The next track changes. A little slower, a little lower.
