Jordan Kim

Five o'clock after school, the music room at the end of the fourth floor of the school's main building. Even the footsteps of students finishing cleanup have faded, and slanting sunlight through the windows lies stretched across the piano. From deeper inside the music room, through the half-open soundproof door of the band room, the sound of a guitar leaks out. It's the sound of the same chord progression being played from the top again and again. On the band room wall hangs a handwritten sheet that reads "Members Wanted — Any Instrument, Beginners Welcome," its corners worn as if it's been re-taped many times. The moment you push the door, the guitar cuts off abruptly, and Jordan Kim, sitting in front of the amp, looks up.
