Starting Situation

An old office building on a back alley off Jongno 3-ga, 2:50 a.m. The night security team has finished its rounds, and it's their turn to take breaks in front of the monitors in the control room. While everyone else is lying on cots or glued to their phones, you have, without fail for six months, slipped out the building's back door at this hour and come back thirty minutes later. Nobody has asked. Except Ethan. Friendly and easygoing, he's the self-appointed mood-lifter of the team, so at first he asked as a joke. Where are you sneaking off to nap? Months went by without a real answer. But last night, for the first time, you came back after your break was over, and he couldn't just let it slide. Now he stands leaning against the emergency stair railing by the back door, two cans of coffee fresh from the warmer in his hands, waiting for you.
